HIGH-SPEED CONTINUOUS MIXER MEC 330


The MEC 330 mixer allows for the production of high-quality agglomerated sand through a precise and easily adjustable dosing system for both dry sand and binders.

The mixer arm can rotate on its base covering an angle of approximately 180°. This capability allows the operator to reach various points of the filling mound easily.

At the end of the mixing cycle, the mixer automatically empties itself.

 

TECHNICAL AND CONSTRUCTIVE FEATURES:

  • Mixing Arm: The mixing arm is constructed from steel, and its internal parts can be replaced when worn. The mixing shaft, with bolted blades and counter blades, is easily accessible for standard end-of-shift cleaning due to the hinged opening of the mixing tank. The shaft is equipped with a mechanical drive system that allows for its removal from the mixing tank without needing to touch the motorization group of the mixer.
  • Mixer Base: The base contains (unless otherwise agreed upon at the time of ordering) various pump units for the binders and pneumatic solenoid valves. The base also houses the rotating ring that allows for the 180° rotation of the mixer arm.
  • Control Panel: The main electrical control panel for the mixer contains all necessary electrical equipment for automatic operation and enables simple and safe calibration of liquid products and dry sand. All operations related to the automatic mixing cycle and control procedures during calibration are managed by a programmable logic controller (PLC) series S7, equipped with a touch panel for data input. All work phases, along with diagnostic information and potential anomalies, are displayed on the control panel screen. The panel controls three separate pump units, each with frequency converters, allowing for various forming programs and recipes to meet the end customer's production needs.
  • Binder Dosing: Binder dosing is achieved using three special gear pumps with mechanical seals (the pump type may vary based on the characteristics of the products to be dosed). Each pump is controlled by its own inverter, allowing the PLC to interact with the pumps to vary speed and performance. The software program enables different programs with adjustable set times, and the base configuration can be customized to meet the customer's operational needs, who can choose various levels of operational freedom at the time of order.
  • Distribution Systems: The binders are sent to recirculation or interception systems that include three two or three-way pneumatic valves, along with devices for controlling and calibrating the binders.
  • Static Mixer: A static mixer blends the resin and catalyst before they are introduced into the main mixer.
  • Quadruple Slide for Dry Sand Dosing: The quadruple slide for dry sand dosing consists of an upper hopper divided into two compartments, a group of four pneumatic control dosing slides, and a lower conveyor. This slide allows for the separate or simultaneous dosing of both new and recovered sand into the mixer to achieve three different situations (A, B, A + B). Each slide is equipped with adjustment controls with a handwheel and locking nut.
  • Support for Dry Sand Dosing Slides: The support for dry sand dosing slides is constructed from welded metal profiles, bolted to the mixer base, and includes fittings for the pneumatic piping of the cylinders controlling the slides. The support ensures the slides are held in place to allow for the rotation of the mixer arm.
  • Dosing System: The mixing tank is equipped with a binder injection system that allows for quick and easy removal of working injectors, simplifying both control and calibration operations.
