AUTOMATIC CORE SHOOTER TYPE "B 30 – PB DO - DV"

This machine is designed to be configured in two different modes of operation, allowing users to make the best use of the machine with both vertically and horizontally divided core boxes.

Vertical Division Core Boxes

For vertical division core boxes, it comes standard with an intelligent hydraulic clamping system featuring grooved plates driven by hydraulic cylinders, along with respective guiding systems and position recognition.

The core boxes can be in two parts (left and right) or three parts (left, right, and a bottom) since the clamping group also includes a hydraulic cylinder for ejecting the hardened cores from the bottom of the box.

Horizontal Division Core Boxes

When using horizontal division core boxes, the machine can operate in two different modes: opening the core box from the inside or outside the perimeter closure. For internal opening, the machine can be equipped with a holder for the upper half of the core box, which retains the upper half during the descent of the machine table after shooting and gassing.

Subsequently, the slide with the lower half of the core box is moved outside the machine, where the hydraulic ejector extracts the hardened core for the operator to retrieve it.

Alternatively, if the external opening is preferred, the machine can be fitted with a hydraulic lifter for the upper half of the core box located outside the front door of the machine, along with a support for securing the lower half of the core box inside, where a hydraulic extractor is installed.

After the shooting and gassing cycle, the entire core box is moved by the slide outside, where the lifter raises the upper half, and the hydraulic ejector extracts the hardened core.

The holder, as well as the hydraulic lifter and the support for the lower half of the core box with the built-in hydraulic extractor, are all optional parts that can be ordered if deemed necessary. However, if required, they can only be provided if ordered together with the machine.

The hydraulic slide allows the clamping group (or the support for the horizontally divided core box) with the installed core box to be moved out of the shooting and gassing position, giving the operator free access to the upper part of the core box to remove the hardened cores from the shooting area.

The core shooter in question is a machine for producing cores using all processes that utilize gassing for hardening the cores and is built according to the following characteristics:

  • Clamping system on the right and left sides with mechanical fixing of the core boxes.
  • Independent intelligent hydraulic movements on both sides with position recognition, controlled by hydraulic valves equipped with fast/slow operation and corresponding dedicated software.
  • Hydraulic slide with a stroke of 1000 mm, operated by a hydraulic cylinder and proximity limit switch.
  • Hydraulic extractor: vertical ejection movement with four push points and a stroke of 20 mm is hydraulically self-guided and fully housed within the base of the clamping group, with no external parts visible. This specific construction form ensures that this application does not hinder the normal use of the clamping group when the ejector is not in use. The extractor's operation is always managed within the recipes, allowing it to be included or excluded as desired.
  • Hydraulic table lifting/lowering group with a stroke of 400 mm, operated by an intelligent cylinder with position recognition, controlled by hydraulic valves equipped with fast/slow operation and corresponding dedicated software.
  • Complete perimeter closure with external side walls made of mesh and an optoelectric barrier on the operator's side, featuring an automatic full-height roll-up front closure. For maintenance, the perimeter closure is equipped with sliding side doors controlled by safety limit switches.
  • Mechanical support devices for the upper half of the core box when using horizontally divided core boxes (optional).
  • Integrated gasifier within the perimeter closure.
  • Integrated electrical panel with an operator console supported by a cantilever arm, featuring a Siemens PLC, visualization on a 10” Elmak PC with multilingual operational software capable of storing recipes with adjustable parameters including:
    • Indication of the type of shooting head to be used (slot, center hole, cross, or inserts).
    • Indication of the type of insert to be used (e.g., insert 11, etc.).
    • Single, double, or triple shooting, each with its own charging time.
    • Charging frequency.
    • Indication of shooting pressure to be used (manual adjustment).
    • Position of the right half core on the clamp.
    • Position of the left half core on the clamp.
    • Position of the core box in ascent (against shooting head). Once this value is set, the machine automatically positions itself for the entry of the gassing plate after shooting.
    • Gassing time.
    • Washing time.
    • Indication of gassing pressure to be used (manual adjustment).
    • Indication of washing pressure to be used (manual adjustment).
    • Slide included or excluded.
    • Clamps included or excluded.
    • Ability to insert intermediate cycle stops for introducing reinforcement or hooks before the shooting cycle.
    • Ability to insert intermediate cycle stops for introducing reinforcement or hooks after the shooting cycle.
    • Other cycle variables can be set via specific commands on the control panel (shooting-only cycle, gassing-only cycle).

The filterless shooting system adopted on this machine allows for reduced shooting pressures.

The machine is constructed in compliance with European safety standards, is marked CE, and is accompanied by a relevant declaration of conformity.
